Le bois rejoint l'acier - Premiers résultats

Dear traditional shaving enthusiasts,

Last week, I shared with you our project to incorporate wood into our creations. Today, after many tests and adjustments, I am happy to present the first concrete results of this adventure.

From prototypes to finished products

The first prototypes we sketched are now finished products. The path wasn't without its challenges - the fit between the hand-turned wooden parts and our CNC-machined parts wasn't the easiest, but the result is conclusive.

What we offer today

We have finalized two configurations that seem particularly successful to us:

  • Our No. 7 now features a walnut handle with expressive grain that contrasts elegantly with the machined stainless steel.
  • The Maurice is adorned with a boxwood handle, whose light and warm color perfectly complements the sandblasted finish of the stainless steel.
  • Our badger brush features a double-band tuft of natural hair (21mm knot with a 10 to 15% denser SHD density), mounted on a handle matching the razor of your choice.

About ergonomics

We paid particular attention to the balance of the parts. The upper ring of the brush provides natural support for the fingers, which greatly facilitates its handling when creating the lather.

An evolving approach

This project remains an ongoing exploration for us. User feedback will be invaluable in refining and possibly expanding our offering to other wood species in the future.

I remain at your disposal for any questions or suggestions regarding these new features. Your feedback will help us move forward in this new direction.

Yours sincerely, Augustin
