Refund policy
Order cancellation
You may cancel your order and obtain a full refund for as long as manufacturing has not begun. Once your order is in production, cancellation is no longer possible.
Made-to-order razors
Razors made to order in a configuration chosen by you are personalised goods: in accordance with Article L.221-28, 3° of the French Consumer Code, they cannot be returned, exchanged or subject to a right of withdrawal. We invite you to check your configuration before confirming your order.
Non-personalised stock items
For non-personalised stock items (blades, standard accessories), you have a right of withdrawal of fourteen (14) days from receipt. Products must be returned new, complete and in their original packaging. Return shipping costs are at your expense. The refund is made using the same means of payment, within a maximum of fourteen (14) days after receipt and verification of the condition of the products.
Lifetime warranty
Every Atelier Durdan razor is machined to order in our workshop in Saint-Affrique, then inspected piece by piece before shipping. We stand behind that work for as long as you own it, subject to the availability of parts and models.
What the warranty covers
Atelier Durdan warrants its razors for life against manufacturing defects: faulty threading, assembly defects, failure of a component under normal use, seizing of the adjustment mechanism (Horizon), or dimensions outside tolerance affecting blade retention.
The warranty applies where the defect was present when the razor left the workshop, even if it appears years after purchase.
What the warranty does not cover
The following are excluded:
- normal wear and marks of use;
- knocks, impacts, drops, and any scratching, deformation or breakage resulting from them — a machined razor is a precision mechanical part: a fall onto a hard surface can throw a dimension out of true or mark an edge irreversibly;
- patina on living materials — bronze and copper develop naturally over time; this is expected behaviour, not a defect;
- corrosion caused by inadequate care or storage in a damp environment;
- forced disassembly, modification, repair or surface treatment carried out by a third party;
- any use other than the product's intended purpose.
Availability of parts and models
The warranty applies subject to the availability of spare parts, materials and models at the time of the claim.
Our catalogue changes over time: some models are discontinued, and some finishes or materials are no longer sourced. Where an original part is no longer available, Atelier Durdan will offer either an equivalent part from the current catalogue or a suitable alternative solution. Any such offer is made in good faith and discussed with the customer.
This reservation concerns only the means of repair. It does not narrow the range of defects covered.
How to make a claim
Before returning anything, send us photographs of the defect at the address shown on our Contact page. We will assess the claim and reply promptly.
Once the defect is confirmed, Atelier Durdan will, at its discretion, repair or replace the affected part or parts. Return shipping is covered by the workshop. In most cases the replacement part is shipped directly, with no need to return the razor.
The warranty does not give rise to a refund.
Who is covered
The warranty is granted to the original purchaser and is not transferable on resale.
Warranty and returns
The lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects. It is not a right of return.

Statutory guarantees under French law (two-year conformity guarantee, latent defects) apply in all cases, in addition to this commercial warranty.
