Sometimes difficult times give rise to the greatest adventures. The story of Atelier Durdan begins this way, in a turning-milling workshop that was struggling to find its way.

One summer, during a conversation with his cousin, who was passionate about traditional shaving, Augustin discovered a new world of possibilities. With the free time his business allowed him, he began creating his first prototype safety razor. He named it "Le Maurice," in homage to his recently deceased grandfather.

The first attempts are far from perfect, but the passion is there. The time spent refining every detail, understanding every parameter, becomes a source of satisfaction rather than a constraint. This perseverance finally pays off: in early 2022, the Atelier's first artisanal razors will be launched in France.

The adventure takes a new turn in early 2023 with the arrival of Chloé. Her expertise in finishing allows the workshop to reach a new level in the quality of its creations, offering men exceptional shaving instruments.

Our logo also tells its own story: on one side, a mountain recalling Augustin's Alpine roots, and on the other, a drill tip symbolizing the technical precision we strive for in each of our creations. It is this alliance between respect for tradition and technical excellence that guides every razor made in our French workshop today.
