Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our hand-crafted safety razors
Are safety razors dangerous?
Contrary to common belief, safety razors are not dangerous when used correctly. Their very name comes from the fact that they were designed as a safer alternative to straight razors. A few important points:
- They call for a short adjustment period and a slightly different technique from disposable razors
- We recommend a 30° angle and applying no pressure
- Our razors, made in France, are designed with particular attention to ergonomics and safety
- With a little practice, you will achieve a more precise and less irritating shave than with disposable razors
How do you choose the best safety razor for a beginner?
For a beginner, choosing the right safety razor is key to a positive experience. We recommend:
- Our Numéro 7 model with a 0.3mm gap setting, designed specifically for great ease of use and smoothness.
- Opt for a stainless steel razor, easier to handle and covered by our satisfied-or-refunded guarantee
- Do not hesitate to contact us for tailored advice based on your skin and beard type
All our safety razors are made in France with care to ensure optimal quality, even for beginners.
Are the handles interchangeable?
While all our safety razor handles are interchangeable, those paired with a specific model were designed to offer a perfect match in style and ergonomics. Each handle is threaded to the ISO M5 standard, the most widely used on the market, making it compatible with many other hand-crafted razors.
This standardization lets you personalize your safety razor to suit your aesthetic preferences and your grip comfort.
How do you care for a safety razor?
Caring for a safety razor is simple but essential to ensure its longevity and performance. Here are our recommendations:
- After each use, take the razor apart and rinse it thoroughly under lukewarm water to remove any residue
- Dry every part well before reassembling to prevent oxidation
- For our stainless steel or titanium models, no other particular care is needed
- For other materials (brass, bronze, etc.), occasional light polishing can be beneficial
With this simple care, your hand-crafted safety razor will stay with you for many years, unlike disposable razors.
What are the lead times?
If a product is out of stock, the lead time will depend on the number of orders in the queue.
As a rule, our lead times for safety razors are 2 to 6 weeks. This time is necessary because each razor is made entirely in France in our workshop, with a meticulous hand-finishing process that ensures exceptional quality.
We also offer a selection of models available immediately in our "In stock" category. Thank you for your patience and understanding
Are there any customs or VAT charges to pay after my order?
No. All our prices are inclusive of all taxes and also cover all customs charges. So you will have nothing extra to pay: your razor will arrive directly at your door, with no unpleasant surprises.
We take care of the international logistics so your experience is smooth and pleasant, from click to delivery.
