Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our handcrafted safety razors
Are safety razors dangerous?
Contrary to popular belief, safety razors are not dangerous when used correctly. Their name comes from the fact that they were designed as a safer alternative to straight razors. Here are some important points:
- They require an adjustment period and a slightly different technique than disposable razors
- It is recommended to use a 30° angle and not to apply pressure
- Our razors, made in France, are designed with particular attention to ergonomics and safety.
- With a little practice, you will achieve a closer and less irritating shave than with disposable razors.
How to choose the best safety razor for beginner men?
For a beginner, choosing the right safety razor is crucial for a positive experience. We recommend:
- Our model Number 7 with a 0.3mm GAP adjustment, specially designed to offer great smoothness of use.
- Choose a stainless steel razor, which is easier to handle and comes with our money-back guarantee.
- Do not hesitate to contact us for personalized advice based on your skin and beard type.
All our safety razors are carefully manufactured in France to guarantee optimal quality, even for beginners.
Are the handles interchangeable?
While all our safety razor handles are interchangeable, those associated with a specific model have been designed for perfect style and ergonomics. Each handle is threaded to the most common ISO M5 standard on the market, allowing compatibility with many other handcrafted razors.
This standardization gives you the opportunity to personalize your safety razor according to your aesthetic preferences and your grip comfort.
How to maintain your safety razor?
Maintaining a safety razor is simple but essential to ensure its longevity and performance. Here are our recommendations:
- After each use, disassemble and rinse your razor thoroughly with warm water to remove residue.
- Dry all parts thoroughly before reassembling to prevent oxidation
- For our stainless steel or titanium models, no other special maintenance is necessary.
- For other materials (brass, bronze, etc.), occasional light polishing may be beneficial
With these simple care instructions, your handcrafted safety razor will last you for many years, unlike disposable razors.
What are the manufacturing times?
If a product is not in stock, the manufacturing time will depend on the number of pending orders.
Typically, our manufacturing lead times for safety razors are 2 to 6 weeks. This time is necessary because each razor is entirely made in France in our workshop, with a meticulous artisanal finishing process that guarantees exceptional quality.
We also offer a selection of models available immediately in our "In Stock" category. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
